Awful, Beautiful Life

Wow, it has certainly been a while since I have updated! Now that I have a quiet moment to myself, I am slowly getting caught up on all of the things that need to be done. Firstly, our newest addition, Danika Zoey, is almost a month old already! She was born on April 25, 2011 at 8.26am, weighing 6lbs 5oz, and measuring 19 inches long. We stayed in the hospital for 4 days, due to me having a blood transfusion... that wasn't so much fun!

Now that we are all settled in at home, Danika is a very laid-back baby. She doesn't really fuss unless she needs fed or changed, and doesn't get too mad when Bekah attempts to squish her! Bekah is adapting very well to having her sister home... she likes to give her hugs and kisses. She also attempts to share her toys with her, and occasionally her food!

The house has fallen into complete disarray, with Trevor working a lot to make up for me not working. It seems as though there is twice as much laundry to do with only one extra person in the house! My day starts early, getting the baby fed, pumping so she has bottles for the day, getting her dressed, then getting Bekah up, dressed, and fed. Followed by laundry, feedings, pumpings, lots of diapers, naps, and making meals. Sometimes I have Pauline or Dani here to help, but I'm doing a lot of alone time right now too. I am still not supposed to lift Bekah or drive, but hey, we can't always help it! We stay home most of the time, since getting both of the girls packed up to go out is quite a hassle.

Bekah is still not walking by herself... she is quite a chatterbox though. She is so busy telling everyone about her day that she doesn't have time to figure out how to walk! She can scale the furniture very quickly, and will take a few steps by herself to get to something or someone nearby that she wants.

As I sit in my living room, with my sleeping newborn daughter next to me, and my sleeping almost 14 month old upstairs, I wonder where the past 2 years have gone. We have gotten married and had 2 beautiful little girls. We have changed jobs, and moved houses. We have gotten a dog, and given him to our parents. So many things have changed. But at the end of the day, despite all of the craziness, I wouldn't trade this life for anything. We have a beautiful family, a roof over our heads, food on the table, clothes on our backs, and all the love we need. We both have jobs, which not everyone can say. Yes, our schedules clash a lot, and we don't get to see each other as much as we may like, or spend as much time together as a family as we want to, but we still have each other. We haven't had to put the girls in daycare yet, and we have some great friends who are willing to help out at a moments notice. I have a great sister, who will drop what she is doing to come and help me with the girls if I need her. We have a great life and I wouldn't change a thing (except maybe have a bigger house and a maid!!!!)
